## What Happened: Metro Digital Group And YMCA Ghana AI Centers
Metro Digital Group announced a partnership with YMCA Ghana to build gaming-led AI learning centers, starting in Kumasi. The concept is to attract youth through activities they already enjoy, like esports, music recording, and creating digital media. From there, participants would be guided into coding, digital production, and AI training.

AI, short for artificial intelligence, is software that can learn patterns from data to make predictions or generate content, similar to how a human learns from examples. The centres aim to go beyond casual use of technology and move young people toward formal skills, certifications, and job readiness.

Metro Digital Group said it will handle programming, technology infrastructure, and operating processes across the sites. It also plans to set up sponsorships and revenue activities to support ongoing operations. YMCA Ghana will contribute local leadership, community reach, and its existing youth development network.

The partners described the plan as a repeatable model rather than a single lab. The centers are also intended to connect young people in Ghana with peers in the United States, where Metro already works with YMCA sites.
