Mawingu says its internet connectivity is supporting digital healthcare at Nep Community Hospital in Garissa Township. The hospital has used Mawingu connectivity since 30 July 2025.

## What Happened
[Mawingu](/mawingu) says the connection is helping Nep Community Hospital access digital healthcare services, manage patient records more efficiently, and serve more patients through the Social Health Authority, or SHA, which is a government health services platform.

Mawingu says reliable internet has become part of the hospital’s daily operations since it was connected. The hospital previously depended on physical patient records, and it had no access to SHA services.

With internet access in place, the hospital now uses an online application to store and retrieve patient information. The hospital says this makes it faster for staff to access records, compared to working through physical files.

The hospital also says internet access has enabled it to use the SHA platform. Hospital administrator Ahmed Osman says this allows more patients to receive treatment through the scheme. He also reports an increase in hospital revenue through SHA.

Mawingu adds that connectivity is also helping medical staff access online medical platforms, including telemedical information related to diagnosis and pharmaceutical services. Telemedical information means clinical guidance shared through online systems, rather than only in printed materials.

The update shows how basic connectivity can change how a health facility runs. For Nep Community Hospital, moving from paper files to an online records application affects how quickly staff can retrieve information during care.

It also highlights a second dependency, access to systems that sit behind healthcare administration. The hospital says it could not access SHA services without internet, and that affected both patient coverage through the scheme and revenue collected via SHA.
