## Content

## In Short
Learning Rockets is an Egyptian ed-tech startup that teaches English from pre-K to Grade 6 using a linked set of books, the Bee Degree learning app and progress data.

## What Happened: How Learning Rockets Connects Books, App, And Data
Learning Rockets was founded in Assiut in Upper Egypt. The company says it helps children learn English through a connected system that links what happens in the classroom with practice at home.

Co-founder and CEO Mariam Soliman said English in Egyptian schools “lives in the school book and stays there”. She described three gaps, practice not continuing at home, consumer apps teaching a different course than what children are tested on, and parents and schools not seeing progress until exams. She added that in Upper Egypt, weak internet and old devices mean many digital products do not work.

The Bee Degree app turns each unit from Learning Rockets’ books, and from Egypt’s national English course from KG1 to Grade 6, into games, quizzes and reading activities. Soliman said the app works offline and on older, low-cost devices. Children log in with a code printed on a card, so they do not need an email or password.

Soliman said teachers, principals, school groups and parents each get a dashboard showing how each child is doing week by week. She said Learning Rockets also trains teachers to use the system in class. Soliman leads the company alongside executive manager George Gamil, and the team includes 11 curriculum writers, illustrators, developers and trainers.

## Why It Matters: Scale Across Schools And Local Hiring
Learning Rockets says schools have driven its growth. The startup says more than 100,000 students now learn with Learning Rockets in over 200 partner schools across all of Egypt’s governorates.

Soliman said that in the current school year, a group of 63 schools joined at once, and Learning Rockets set up every branch, class and student account in September 2026.

Bee Degree has more than 10,000 downloads on Google Play and a 4.8-star rating. Soliman also said 70 percent of the company’s full-time team are young women from Upper Egypt, and that “good jobs for young women are still scarce here.”
