## Content

## In Short
Kredete has acquired Gravv to deepen its stablecoin payment infrastructure and improve how it routes and settles cross-border transactions.

## What Happened
[Kredete](/kredete), a fintech founded in 2022 by Adeola Adedewe, says it has acquired Gravv, a stablecoin infrastructure platform. Kredete focuses on African immigrants and diaspora users, and it uses stablecoins, which are crypto tokens designed to track the value of currencies like the US dollar, to power cross-border services.

Gravv provides the behind-the-scenes rails that move money between banks, blockchain networks, and local payment systems. In simple terms, it is the plumbing that helps different financial networks talk to each other. Its tools include multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, liquidity management, stablecoin settlement, transaction reconciliation, and payments.

Gravv says its infrastructure handles more than $3 billion in annualised transaction volume for over 1,000 businesses across more than 100 countries. It also says it works with seven global banking partners.

Kredete says owning Gravv’s technology will give it tighter control over transaction settlement and routing. Settlement is the final step where money actually moves and the transfer is completed. Routing is the decision-making layer that chooses which partner, bank, or network a payment should travel through.

Gravv’s infrastructure is expected to remain available to other customers, including banks, fintechs, digital platforms, and developers building international and stablecoin-based payment products.

The acquisition follows Kredete’s $22 million Series A announced in 2025. Kredete says it serves more than 6.5 million users and processes about $18 billion in annualised payments volume.

## Why It Matters
More African fintechs are trying to control more of the cross-border payments stack, especially the infrastructure layer. This can reduce reliance on third-party providers and improve reliability, costs, and speed.

The deal also signals rising demand for stablecoin-based payment rails for international transfers, particularly where traditional cross-border banking is expensive, slow, or hard to access.
