## Content

## In Short
Ten South African entrepreneurs have been selected for One Young World’s National Programme for Job-Generating Entrepreneurs. The cohort includes founders from [JOBJACK](/jobjack) and [Botlhale AI](/botlhale-ai), plus the Zaio Institute of Technology.

## What Happened: Who Was Selected And What The Programme Offers
Disrupt Africa named JOBJACK co-founder Christiaan van den Berg, Botlhale AI’s Thapelo Nthite and Zaio Institute of Technology’s Akhil Boddu among the selected founders.

Tech Across Africa said their businesses span entry-level recruitment, African-language technology and technical education.

The initiative is backed by founding partner the Ichikowitz Family Foundation. It is linked to the One Young World Summit in Cape Town from 3 to 6 November.

Organisers said the programme offers mentorship, connections and market access. A Demo Day is provisionally planned for late May 2027.

The organisers also said the programme does not provide direct funding.

## Why It Matters: Support Without Capital
The programme’s offer is focused on non-cash support, including mentorship and market access. For founders building job-creating companies, that can help with partnerships, learning and finding customers.

At the same time, the organisers’ note that there is no direct funding sets expectations. Selected founders may still need to raise capital elsewhere if they want to hire faster or expand operations.
