## Content

## In Short
- Investec Bank Limited has issued 80,000 flexible investment notes under the FNIB33 code.
- The JSE approved the listing.
- Trading is scheduled to start on 10 September 2026.

## What Happened
Investec Bank Limited, part of [Investec](/investec), announced a new issue of flexible investment notes, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the code FNIB33. The announcement was dated 9 September 2026.

Flexible investment notes are listed debt instruments, similar to tradeable IOUs, that can have features like variable returns or payoffs linked to an underlying reference. In practice, they give investors another way to get exposure to a specific payoff structure without buying the underlying assets directly.

The bank said it issued 80,000 notes under the FNIB33 code, and the JSE has approved their listing. Trading is expected to begin on 10 September 2026.

## Why It Matters
New note listings add to the menu of exchange-listed debt and structured products available to investors. For market participants, a JSE listing can improve visibility and tradability because the instrument can be bought and sold through brokers during market hours.

For banks, issuing listed notes is one way to raise funding or package specific risk and return profiles for investors, while staying inside an exchange and regulatory framework. The FNIB33 listing also signals ongoing activity in South Africa’s listed debt market, which is often used by institutions to manage liquidity and diversify funding sources.
