## Content

## In Short
A SENS notice says Harcourt Street 1 (RF) Limited will list R186 million in senior secured fixed-rate notes on 20 October 2026.

## What Happened
The SENS notice, dated 19 October 2026, announced a new financial instrument listing effective 20 October.

The instrument is R186 million in senior secured fixed-rate notes. “Senior secured” means the debt ranks ahead of other unsecured debt in a default, and it is backed by collateral (assets pledged as security). “Fixed-rate” means the interest rate is set upfront and does not change during the life of the notes.

The issuer named in the notice is Harcourt Street 1 (RF) Limited. An “RF” company in South Africa is a ring-fenced entity (a special-purpose company whose assets and liabilities are separated for a specific transaction).

The notice names [Investec](/investec) Bank Limited as the debt sponsor. A debt sponsor is the appointed bank or adviser that helps manage the listing process and ongoing issuer compliance on the debt market. The notice does not identify Investec as the issuer.

## Why It Matters
South Africa’s listed debt market continues to be an active funding channel for special-purpose issuers that raise capital through notes rather than bank loans.

For investors, senior secured fixed-rate notes can look like a more predictable product than floating-rate debt, because coupon payments are known in advance. The trade-off is that investors still carry credit risk, meaning the chance the issuer cannot repay.

For the ecosystem, listings like this show ongoing demand for structured funding vehicles and for banks that can sponsor and support debt capital market activity, even when risk appetite is uneven across asset classes.
