## Content

## In Short
Investable.Africa has launched in open beta as a startup funding platform.

It gives founders access to a database of more than 4,000 investing firms. It also gives investors free access to deal flow, meaning a pipeline of startups seeking funding, from all 54 African countries.

## What Happened: How Investable.Africa Works For Founders And Investors
McLeod said the group aimed to increase funding into Africa, eliminate bad term sheets, and help founders build networks.

“For 10 years I’ve watched great African founders struggle to reach the right investors, and sign terms they didn’t need to accept,” said McLeod. “The group showed what happens when founders and investors talk openly. Investable.Africa takes that to every founder on the continent, not just the ones who already have the right phone numbers.”

On the platform, founders can build a profile covering their problem, solution, traction, team, and current round. Investable.Africa says every profile is checked by its team before going live. Founders can upload a pitch deck that only approved investors can open, and a data room where founders decide who can see specific folders.

Founders can search investors by stage, cheque size, sector, lead or follow, ownership target, founder focus, and location. The platform lists each firm’s partners and contact routes, and says its database is built from public lists that are credited openly.

Investable.Africa also says founders can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI assistant to the database to shortlist firms and draft personalised outreach for review.

Investors use the platform for free and are vetted before seeing full profiles and decks. They can filter startups by region, country, sector, stage, round type, and raise size, or view only companies currently raising.

Founders can build a profile for free, with a listing costing US$99 a month or US$299 per year.

## Why It Matters: More Visibility And Control For African Fundraising
Investable.Africa is positioning itself as a place where founders can find investor contacts and manage access to sensitive fundraising materials. The platform also adds basic tracking, founders can see who viewed their profile, opened their deck, or read a file, and can post updates to investors following them.
