## Content

## In Short
- inDrive is partnering with Vezeeta in Egypt to offer drivers discounted healthcare.
- The deal uses Vezeeta Shamel, a paid yearly subscription that unlocks lower prices on medical services.
- Legendary drivers get Shamel subscriptions for free, and all drivers get 25% off for themselves and family members.

## What Happened
[inDrive](/indrive) said it has signed a strategic partnership with [Vezeeta](/vezeeta) to improve access to healthcare services for its driver community in Egypt.

Under the agreement, drivers will get benefits through Vezeeta’s Shamel programme. Shamel is an annual subscription that offers discounts of up to 80% on healthcare services, such as doctor visits and other medical bookings.

inDrive said Legendary drivers, the highest tier in its driver loyalty programme, will receive Shamel subscriptions at no cost. The company also said all inDrive drivers and their families will get a 25% discount on Shamel subscriptions.

Vezeeta said Shamel can be used without restrictions tied to age, chronic conditions, or other health status. It also positioned the partnership as part of a wider push to make discounted healthcare easier to access through app-based tools.

## Why It Matters
Driver supply is a core constraint for ride-hailing and mobility platforms. If drivers leave, riders see longer wait times and higher prices.

Healthcare benefits are a direct way to improve driver retention, especially in markets where many gig workers pay medical costs out of pocket. For inDrive, this looks like a move to build a broader “driver services” bundle, not just rides.

For Vezeeta, the partnership is another distribution channel. It brings in a large pool of working adults who may not have private insurance, and it also extends Shamel to family members.

If uptake is strong, similar partnerships could spread to other mobility apps and gig worker segments in Egypt and beyond.
