## What Happened
HustleSasa, a Nairobi-based creator-commerce platform, has raised fresh funding led by Impacc. The company wants to expand from event ticketing into fintech, which means building money tools like payments and financing for businesses.

On the platform, event organisers can create event pages, sell tickets, and take payments through mobile money and cards. It also offers marketing tools like bulk messaging and email campaigns, plus check-in features and merchandise sales.

The company was founded in 2021 by Peng Chen and Michael Denuh. It previously joined Antler East Africa, which invested $100,000 at pre-seed. Other early backers include Musha Ventures and Microtraction, and Best Nights VC invested in February 2025.

Impacc said it also brought in other investors for this round, but names and stake sizes were not shared. Impacc operates as a non-profit VC, which means it turns donations into equity investments in startups rather than giving grants.

HustleSasa operates in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. The company says it has processed over 520,000 tickets across more than 2,500 live events.

## Why It Matters
Creator and event businesses across Africa often handle payments, marketing, and cash flow in separate tools. A combined creator-commerce and fintech setup could reduce admin work and make it easier to track sales and payouts.

The job impact angle is also notable. Impacc says HustleSasa data suggests that for every 10 tickets sold, one gig worker gets employed, including security, catering, and stage crews.

For investors and operators, this deal is another signal that fintech products are spreading into vertical platforms. Ticketing companies are no longer just ticketing, they are building financial services around the events economy.
