## Content

## In Short
Her Startup has opened applications for its second accelerator cohort for women-led tech startups in Africa.

The programme will pick 10 early-stage founders and run a 12-week training track, plus mentoring and a pathway to funding.

Applications close on October 26.

## What Happened
Her Startup, an accelerator for women-led technology startups in Africa, has opened applications for its second cohort.

The initiative is a partnership between the KSH Foundation, Tomorrow Foundation, and EHA Impact Ventures. Training will be delivered by Founder Institute, a pre-seed accelerator that helps founders build companies from idea to early traction.

Selected founders will go through a 12-week intensive programme. Her Startup says it will cover programme fees and provide a monthly stipend, so participants can join full-time.

Founders will also pitch to an investment committee for convertible revenue-based financing. This is funding that is repaid as a percentage of revenue, and can convert into equity later, instead of setting a fixed repayment schedule from day one.

Eligibility includes women founders or CEOs aged 18 to 35. The business must be tech-enabled, operating for at least six months, and generating at least US$500 in monthly gross revenue. The programme is also encouraging applications from Francophone Africa for the 2026 to 2027 cohort.

Her Startup said its 2024 to 2025 pilot drew over 200 applications from 18 countries. Ten founders were selected for training and three ventures received funding at a Pitch Day in Lagos.

## Why It Matters
Women-led startups still raise a small share of venture funding across Africa. Disrupt Africa data cited by the programme puts female CEO-led ventures at 9.6% of funded startups in 2025.

By bundling training, stipends, mentoring, and a founder-friendly financing option in one track, Her Startup is trying to reduce the time and network gaps that often block early-stage fundraising.

For founders who already have some revenue, the revenue-based model can be less risky than traditional debt. Payments rise and fall with sales, which can help teams manage cash flow while they grow.
