## Content

## In Short
FiberOne Broadband is extending its footprint beyond its current markets in Nigeria. The ISP plans to launch in more states before the end of 2026. It is also increasing spending on community infrastructure, youth training, and school connectivity.

## What Happened
[FiberOne Broadband](/fiberone-broadband) said it will roll out services in Abeokuta, Edo, Ondo, Delta, Kano and Kaduna before year-end. This adds to its existing operations in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ilorin, and its recently launched market in Ibadan.

The company is pairing network expansion with community investment. In Lagos, it recently commissioned a road rehabilitation and street-lighting project in Anthony and Mende, within Kosofe Local Government Area. FiberOne said the “Light Up Project” covers Olorunlogbon, Ajose Osborne, Salami and Adesoye streets.

At the commissioning, local representatives called for more direct benefits for young people, including jobs and empowerment programmes. FiberOne said that request matches its broader corporate social responsibility plans.

A key part of that plan is the FiberOne Training Academy, also called FOTA. It offers free practical engineering training for residents, with top performers considered for employment. FiberOne also said it wants to extend parts of the programme into university curricula.

The company is also continuing its education-focused work, including school connectivity programmes. School connectivity usually means providing internet access and related support to schools so learners and teachers can use online tools.

## Why It Matters
Broadband expansion is still uneven across Nigeria, especially outside major cities. New last-mile internet builds can improve home broadband options for households and SMEs that rely on stable connectivity.

FiberOne’s training push also targets a common bottleneck in telecoms, the shortage of field and network technicians who can install, maintain, and repair fibre infrastructure.

If FiberOne executes on both coverage and local skills development, it could strengthen retention in new markets. It also raises the bar for how ISPs compete, not only on speed and pricing, but also on community trust and long-term support.
