[Ecobank](/ecobank) Zimbabwe has officially opened a new head office in Borrowdale, Harare. Ecobank Zimbabwe said the facility is a major investment in the country’s financial sector and reflects a long-term commitment to Zimbabwe.

The event drew Ecobank Group leadership, regulators, business leaders, and government officials. Zimbabwe President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa said the building signals confidence in the economy and praised the use of local professionals in delivery.

Ecobank Group Chairman Papa Ndiaye described the opening as a statement of confidence in Zimbabwe’s future. Group CEO Jeremy Awori said the milestone also marks 15 years of partnership with Zimbabwe, after the bank entered the market in 2011.

Ecobank Zimbabwe Managing Director Moses Kurenjekwa said the headquarters is designed to support “world-class banking solutions” and align with national development priorities. Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube linked the development to the country’s National Development Strategy, moving from NDS 1 to NDS 2 for 2026 to 2030.

Ecobank said the building includes sustainability features such as solar-control glazing, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient systems. In practical terms, this means the office is designed to reduce heat, save water, and lower power use.
