## What Happened
Spain’s Sistema de Receta Electrónica Privada, SREP is a private electronic prescription network used outside the public health system. It verifies that both the prescriber and the dispensing pharmacist are licensed and authorised.

A notice from the Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Málaga says new private electronic prescriptions issued via [Docline](/docline) have been placed under a precautionary suspension within SREP. The suspension has been in effect since September 8, 2026.

SREP is overseen by Spain’s professional councils for doctors, dentists, podiatrists, and pharmacists. These bodies also publish a list of approved prescribing platforms that can connect to the system.
