## Content

## In Short
- dLocal has launched dMoRe, a Merchant of Record service for emerging markets.
- It bundles payments with legal, tax, and compliance support.
- dLocal says companies can launch in new markets in up to eight weeks.

## What Happened
[dLocal](/dlocal) announced dMoRe on August 26, 2026. The company says the product is designed to remove operational barriers for global businesses selling into emerging markets.

A Merchant of Record, or MoR, is a provider that becomes the legal seller for a transaction. In practical terms, it helps a company sell in a country without setting up a local entity, while also handling local tax rules, invoicing, and compliance obligations.

dMoRe combines that MoR layer with dLocal’s existing payment infrastructure. That includes local banking partnerships and access to more than 1,000 local payment methods, according to the company.

The initial focus is on gaming and SaaS, which are software subscription businesses. These sectors often face regulatory checks and recurring billing issues, so delays can hurt customer acquisition and renewals.

dLocal says dMoRe reduces market entry timelines from several months, or up to a year in some cases, to as little as eight weeks. The company also claims merchants can see conversion gains at checkout, meaning a higher share of customers successfully complete payments.

## Why It Matters
For African and other emerging-market consumers, cross-border demand is already strong, but the back office work is still hard. Taxes, fraud controls, licensing rules, and payment method coverage can stop launches even when customers are ready to pay.

For global merchants expanding into markets like Brazil, Nigeria, or Indonesia, an MoR model can lower the need for multiple vendors. It can also reduce the risk of getting local compliance wrong, which can lead to blocked payments, penalties, or account closures.

For dLocal, dMoRe is a move up the stack, from processing payments to owning more of the commercial and regulatory workflow that sits around each sale.
