# Deloitte to Invest $80M More in Egypt Innovation Hub

## What Happened
Deloitte is putting another $80 million into its Egypt Innovation Hub in Cairo. The firm says the money will be deployed over the next three years to expand its technology and digital delivery capacity.

Deloitte says the hub will build expertise in artificial intelligence, data, engineering, cybersecurity, and supply chain technology. It also plans to deepen capabilities around Oracle and ServiceNow, which are common enterprise software platforms used by large organisations.

The Innovation Hub officially launched in October 2024, following an initial $30 million investment commitment. Deloitte positioned the centre as both a talent development engine for Egyptian tech professionals and a delivery base for services like AI and data analytics, cloud (renting computing power over the internet), cybersecurity, and enterprise technology.

Deloitte’s publicly shared impact information says the hub has grown from 23 people to more than 600 professionals. Another report cited a figure above 900, but Deloitte’s current public materials show the lower number.

## Why It Matters
For Egypt’s tech ecosystem, this is a clear signal that global services firms still see Cairo as a scalable talent market, especially for engineering and ICT roles. ICT is short for information and communications technology, which covers software, networks, and IT operations.

For buyers of tech services in EMEA, the expansion strengthens Cairo’s role as a nearshore delivery centre, meaning work can be delivered across regions with closer time zones and lower costs than Western Europe.

The move also fits Deloitte’s wider push in AI and technology services across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Deloitte has said it plans more than €1.5 billion in incremental investment across its broader EMEA business, which could increase competition for skilled developers, data engineers, and cybersecurity talent across the region.
