## Content

## In Short
DeepEcho announced a completed technical integration between its prenatal ultrasound AI and Butterfly Network, Inc.’s handheld ultrasound platform.

The companies say the integration supports DeepEcho’s international expansion strategy.

In the United States, the combined DeepEcho and Butterfly solution is available only for training and educational purposes, not for clinical diagnosis or patient management.

## What Happened: DeepEcho And Butterfly Combine AI With A Handheld Ultrasound
[DeepEcho](/deepecho) said it has completed a technical integration of its AI-powered prenatal ultrasound technology with Butterfly Network, Inc.’s handheld ultrasound platform.

DeepEcho’s software is designed to automate parts of prenatal ultrasound workflow, including fetal image analysis, anatomical segmentation, measurements, and reporting. Anatomical segmentation means the software separates parts of the fetus in an ultrasound image, similar to labelling regions in a picture, to support measurement and documentation.

DeepEcho said the integration is intended to help bring prenatal ultrasound “beyond specialist clinics.” The company also said it creates a foundation for future market expansion, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and country-specific availability.

In the United States, DeepEcho said the integrated solution is currently offered only for training and educational purposes. It is not available for clinical diagnostic use or patient management, and demonstrations and training are not intended to support clinical decisions or replace established prenatal ultrasound examinations.

DeepEcho CEO and co-founder Youssef Bouyakhf said the combined approach is “an important step toward bringing high-quality prenatal assessments beyond specialist clinics and closer to patients.”

DeepEcho chief medical officer and co-founder Saad Slimani, M.D. said the company’s goal is to equip frontline providers with practical ultrasound tools, supported by training and clinical evidence, with clinical deployment guided by local regulatory requirements.

## Why It Matters: Morocco Pilot Results And A Path To Scale
DeepEcho pointed to a pilot with Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region as evidence of real-world impact.

The pilot reached 416 pregnant women and trained 27 midwives. DeepEcho reported a 67 to 75% reduction in examination times, and said the work brought prenatal ultrasound closer to rural communities where women previously traveled an average of 90 kilometers to access hospital-based imaging.

DeepEcho said Moroccan health authorities have expanded the local initiative into a regional deployment programme. The company also said the Butterfly integration will support expansion in international markets, particularly where primary care providers have limited access to specialist imaging.
