# Dailymotion DayOne Program Offers Up to €50,000 Funding

Dailymotion launched DayOne to fund French video creators with €5,000 to €50,000, plus expert guidance and EICAR production support through 2027.

Dailymotion DayOne is a new program to back French video creators with direct project funding. The budget is €2 million across 2026 and 2027. Selected projects can receive €5,000 to €50,000, plus mentoring and production support.

## What Happened
Dailymotion launched DayOne on September 9, 2026. It is a call-for-projects program for content creators living in France.

Creators can apply in the first session until September 20. Dailymotion says it will preselect 20 projects. At least 10 projects will then qualify for funding and support.

The support package includes money, editorial and professional guidance, and help with production. Production support includes access to EICAR facilities for some creators, meaning studios and equipment that can make filming and editing easier.

Dailymotion also named four “talent scouts” for the first session: Anna Marsh (STUDIOCANAL and CANAL+), Marco Thiollier (OnTime), Enora Hope (director and actress), and Théo Juice (creator and entrepreneur). Their role is to help select projects and advise creators.

Alongside DayOne, Dailymotion and OnTime are launching DayTime, a video podcast series about the creator economy. The show will be hosted on Dailymotion.

## Why It Matters
Many social video platforms focus on distribution, meaning they mainly help creators get views. DayOne is framed as a shift toward financing production, so creators can make bigger formats, not just post more often.

The program is also part of Dailymotion’s broader creator strategy after its 2025 acquisition of Mojo, a video creation app. For African founders and operators watching the creator economy, it is another signal that platforms are competing on creator tools, funding, and access to production resources, not only algorithms (automated ranking systems that decide what audiences see).
