## Content

## In Short
CYTO has secured $40,000 in angel funding through Catalytic Africa’s co-investment programme.

The startup says it will use the money to expand its financial automation platform for businesses handling invoices, transactions, and tax compliance.

## What Happened: How CYTO Raised And Plans To Use The Capital
Angolan financial technology startup CYTO secured $40,000 in angel funding through Catalytic Africa’s co-investment programme.

The funding combines $20,000 from investors affiliated with the African Business Angel Network (ABAN) and a matching $20,000 contribution from timbuktoo, a pan-African innovation initiative supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The transaction was facilitated by the Cape Verde Business Angels Association (ABAC), which supports early-stage investment opportunities across African markets.

Founded in 2024, CYTO is headquartered in Luanda, with operations extending to Paris and New York. The startup was co-founded by Joachim Valot, Tamara Lerner, and Thiebault Husson.

CYTO’s platform helps businesses automate administrative and financial processes, including invoice management, supplier verification, transaction reconciliation, and tax reporting. Transaction reconciliation means matching a company’s records to bank or payment records, so finance teams can spot missing or incorrect entries.

According to reported company figures, CYTO has generated more than €110,000 in cumulative revenue, with monthly revenue reaching approximately €9,000. Its technology has reportedly reduced certain tax-submission processes from seven days to one day.

## Why It Matters: More Early-Stage Money For Startups Outside Big VC Hubs
The report says the latest investment will support CYTO’s efforts to strengthen its product offering, expand its customer base, and improve digital financial management for businesses.

The funding also highlights the role of matching capital models, where private angel financing is paired with additional catalytic capital.

CYTO is among four startups from Angola, Cameroon, and Zambia supported through Catalytic Africa’s matching investment approach. The programme has mobilised approximately $189,238 in co-investment across these businesses.

The company is also positioning its services around demand for digital financial management tools, particularly as Angola introduces mandatory electronic invoicing requirements.
