## In Short
Catlog has launched Money Tracker, a built-in financial management system for merchants.

## What Happened
Catlog Money Tracker is a new feature inside [Catlog](/catlog) that helps small businesses track money in and money out without switching between spreadsheets, notebooks, and bank statements.

The core idea is simple. Every transaction should be tracked and explained. That includes sales, expenses, refunds, customer balances, supplier balances, and changing inventory costs.

Money Tracker treats a sale as the point where a customer has paid, either fully or partly. From there, it shows a breakdown per order, including revenue, cost to fulfil, per-item profit, remaining customer debt, and any later refunds or replacements.

On the expense side, merchants can record costs manually, tag wallet withdrawals as expenses, or let the platform auto-create expenses, such as delivery fees from delivery orders. Each expense can include a category, a recipient, and a payment status, so business owners can see where cash is going.

Money Tracker also tracks customer debts when orders are partially paid. It creates a balance, links it to the sale, and generates an invoice that can be shared. Merchants can record follow-up payments over time, set instalment due dates, and send reminder emails. If a customer will not pay, the balance can be marked as bad debt, meaning it is recorded as a loss instead of pretending it is real cash.

Catlog says the tool also covers merchant debts, meaning what the business owes suppliers and other payables.

## Why It Matters
Many SMEs track only sales, not profit and cash flow. Cash flow means how money moves in and out over time, like your business heartbeat. When expenses, refunds, and unpaid invoices are ignored, sales numbers can look better than the business reality.

By putting sales, expenses, debts, inventory cost tracking, and financial analytics in the same place as orders and stock management, Catlog is pushing toward a single system of record for daily trading decisions. For merchants, that can mean clearer pricing, better reordering decisions, and fewer surprises when it is time to restock or pay suppliers.
