## Content

## In Short
Cash-in has added editable referral codes. The referral code also doubles as a user’s leaderboard name.

## What Happened
[Cash-in](/cash-in) said on October 10, 2026 that users can now change their referral code inside the app.

A referral code is the short code you share so someone can sign up through you, similar to a personalised invite link. In Cash-in, that same code is also used as your leaderboard name, the public name shown on ranking tables.

To update it, a user opens their account, goes to the referral section, selects “Change Code”, enters a preferred code, and confirms. Once saved, the new code becomes both the referral code and the leaderboard display name.

The company positioned the change as a way for users to make their referral identity more personal. It also aims to make it easier for other people to recognise who is sharing a code, especially for users who promote Cash-in across social media and messaging apps.

## Why It Matters
Referral programmes are a common growth lever for fintech and crypto apps, because they turn users into a distribution channel. Small tweaks can improve conversion, meaning more people actually use the shared code.

Editable referral codes can reduce friction for users who want a memorable handle, a brand-like name, or a consistent identity across platforms. It can also help avoid confusion when random codes are hard to type or verify.

For Cash-in, tying the referral code to the leaderboard name makes the code more than a sign-up tool. It becomes part of user reputation inside the app, which can encourage repeat sharing and ongoing participation in leaderboard campaigns.
