## Content

## In Short
Careem and MAJRA National CSR Fund plan to turn the Rahma Pledge from a summer-only program into a year-round initiative for delivery workers across the UAE.

## What Happened
[Careem](/careem) and MAJRA said the Rahma Pledge will expand beyond its current summer focus on hydration, food, and health support. The next phase is expected to include education and community engagement for delivery workers.

The announcement was made on September 10, 2026, at a partner recognition event. Nestlé and PepsiCo made initial commitments tied to the longer-term expansion. Arla Foods joined as the official dairy partner, taking total partner contributions to more than AED 1.4 million in products, services, and direct support.

The 2026 summer program ran for four months from June, covering Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, and reaching Al Ain for the first time. It was open to delivery workers regardless of which platform they worked for.

As part of the on-the-ground support, nine air-conditioned mobile rest areas operated daily from 10am to 5pm in high-traffic delivery zones. The rest areas offered a place to cool down and rehydrate between deliveries. The program also included free health screenings through Pakistan Association Dubai, plus chilled drinks and snacks at each station.

Careem said the rest areas had already recorded more than 100,000 visits by early September. They were on track to reach around 125,000 visits by September 15, up from 86,000 last summer.

## Why It Matters
Delivery workers are central to the UAE’s on-demand economy, from food delivery to parcel logistics. Year-round support could help address ongoing safety and wellbeing needs, not just seasonal heat risk.

For private-sector partners, annual pledges create a clearer structure for corporate social responsibility spending. For Careem and MAJRA, it also sets a repeatable model that could expand to more locations and services over time.

No new funding round was announced. The update is mainly about scaling the existing program and widening partner participation.
