## Content

## In Short
- CANAL+ will rebrand Skylink to CANAL+ in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 22 October 2026.
- The launch adds seven CANAL+ channels, including four new ones.
- Subscribers also get access to more than 20,000 on-demand titles in the CANAL+ app.

## What Happened
CANAL+ is rolling its main brand into two more Central European markets by turning Skylink into [CANAL+](/canalplus) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The company says the rebrand comes with a bigger content bundle. It includes seven CANAL+ channels. Four of these are new in the markets, CANAL+, CANAL+ Drama, CANAL+ Crime, and CANAL+ Classics.

Two existing pillars, CANAL+ Action and CANAL+ Sport, stay in place. CANAL+ Sport will continue to show major competitions, including the Premier League and WTA tournaments.

The content expansion is tied to the CANAL+ app, which acts as the main viewing hub. The app combines live TV and streaming in one place, meaning users can watch linear channels (scheduled TV) and on-demand titles (a library you pick from) in the same interface.

CANAL+ unveiled the new offer in Prague on 19 October 2026 at an event for media and partners.

## Why It Matters
For operators and investors, this move shows how pay TV groups are trying to simplify go-to-market across countries. A single brand and a single app can reduce marketing and product complexity when expanding.

For viewers, the pitch is clear, more channels, a larger on-demand catalogue, and one login across devices. It also signals continued competition between traditional satellite TV packages and app-first streaming bundles.

CANAL+ also said local content will remain a core part of its Central Europe strategy. That usually means investing in Czech and Slovak productions and talent, which can help reduce churn by offering shows that global streaming platforms may not prioritize.
