## Content

## In Short
Allianz says a LA28 competition venue in Long Beach, California will be called Allianz Beach Arena.

The venue is a nearly 15,000 seat temporary arena on the Long Beach waterfront. It will host Olympic Beach Volleyball and Paralympic Blind Football (Soccer).

## What Happened: How Allianz Adds A Named LA28 Competition Venue
[Allianz](/allianz) said Allianz Beach Arena will be the first Olympic and Paralympic venue in history to display the Allianz name. The company also said it is the eighth member of the Allianz Family of Stadiums.

The arena is being built solely for the LA28 Games, making it the first event specific member of the Allianz Family of Stadiums. Allianz listed seven other venues in this network, Allianz Arena in Munich, Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Allianz Riviera in Nice, Allianz Stadion in Vienna, Allianz Stadium in Turin, and Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Allianz said the Long Beach arena is expected to welcome nearly 735,000 spectators across beach volleyball and blind football. LA28 anticipates selling approximately 14 million tickets for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in July and August 2028.

Allianz also unveiled its customized LA28 Games emblem. It said its version of the changing “A” design takes inspiration from the Allianz Family of Stadiums, and features Allianz Arena in Munich and Allianz Field in St. Paul.

## Why It Matters: Naming Rights And Commercial Support For LA28
Allianz said LA28 is the first Olympic and Paralympic Games to offer naming rights at competition venues. It said this creates new commercial opportunities that directly support the staging of the Games.

Eike Bürgel, Global Head of Olympic and Paralympic Program at Allianz, said the venue brings together two Allianz sports initiatives, the Allianz Family of Stadiums and its Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partnership, in one venue that bears the Allianz name.

Allianz said it has been a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner since 2021 and will continue to support the Games through 2032.
