## Content

## In Short
- Airtel Money plans to list on the London Stock Exchange via an IPO in October 2026.
- The offer will sell existing shares only, so Airtel Money will not raise new capital.
- IFC plans to invest up to £67.2 million as a cornerstone investor.

## What Happened
Airtel Money, the digital financial services arm of [Airtel](/airtel), said it plans to launch an initial public offering and list on the London Stock Exchange. Airtel Money operates across 13 African markets, and it says the listing would support its next phase of growth.

The company expects to publish its IPO prospectus in early October 2026. A prospectus is the legal document that explains the business, risks, and offer terms for investors. The final offer price is expected in mid-October after book-building, which is the process where banks collect investor demand to help set the price.

Airtel Money said the IPO will include only existing shares. This means current shareholders are selling part of their holdings, and the company itself does not receive new cash from the sale. Airtel Money expects a free float of at least 10% after listing, meaning at least 10% of shares will be available to public investors.

International Finance Corporation (IFC) said it has agreed to invest up to £67.2 million, about $90 million, as a cornerstone investor, subject to the final price and other conditions. A cornerstone investor is an early large buyer that can help signal confidence in the deal.

## Why It Matters
Airtel Money is positioning itself as one of the largest mobile money and fintech platforms in Africa. It reported about 53 million monthly active users as of June 30, 2026.

The company said total processed value reached $213 billion in the 12 months ending June 30, 2026. For the financial year ending March 2026, it reported $1.346 billion in revenue and $676 million in EBITDA, which is a profit measure before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.

Because the IPO does not raise new money, investors will focus on valuation, liquidity, and how Airtel Money funds expansion through its existing cash generation. The London listing also adds to the trend of African fintech-linked businesses looking outside local exchanges for deeper pools of capital and analyst coverage.
