## Content

## In Short
AfriDelivery has onboarded Dhell Pharmacy. Customers can now order health essentials for doorstep delivery.

## What Happened
[AfriDelivery](/afridelivery) announced on May 20, 2026 that Dhell Pharmacy is now live on its delivery platform.

The update means customers can place orders for “healthy essentials” from the pharmacy and have them delivered to their door. In practice, this is a pharmacy marketplace listing, where the delivery platform handles ordering and last-mile fulfilment.

AfriDelivery did not share details on coverage areas, delivery times, or pricing in the announcement. It also did not specify the full product range that will be available through Dhell Pharmacy.

## Why It Matters
Pharmacy delivery is a growing part of on-demand commerce in Africa. It sits next to food delivery, grocery delivery, and parcel delivery, and it depends heavily on reliable dispatch and inventory availability.

For customers, adding a local pharmacy to a delivery app can reduce the time and transport cost of getting everyday health items. This can be especially useful for people managing repeat purchases like basic over-the-counter supplies.

For AfriDelivery, onboarding pharmacies can increase order frequency and expand into higher-urgency use cases than restaurant meals. It also adds new merchant categories and can improve driver utilisation across the day.

The next signal to watch is whether AfriDelivery adds more pharmacies, expands coverage, or introduces features like prescription handling, order verification, and pharmacist chat support, which are common building blocks in digital pharmacy services.
