## What Happened
Abwaab acquired Eduact to expand from direct-to-student digital learning into education infrastructure, meaning the back-office software that helps teachers and tutoring centres run day-to-day work.

Abwaab is an education technology company operating across six Middle East and North Africa markets. It is known for curriculum-aligned content, video lessons, and assessment tools, which are digital tools used for tests and tracking progress.

Eduact, founded in Egypt in 2020, builds software for independent teachers and smaller learning centres. Its tools cover content management, student assessments, grading, payments, and workflows across both classroom and online learning.

The acquisition gives Abwaab access to Eduact’s network of teachers and physical learning centres in Egypt. Abwaab says it plans to integrate Eduact’s technology into its wider platform and use its regional footprint to reach more educators in Egypt, and possibly other markets over time.

## Why It Matters
This deal points to a common shift in edtech. Many companies are moving from pure online tutoring apps to blended models that support how education already works on the ground.

In Egypt, private tutors and supplementary learning centres are still a major part of exam preparation. Instead of trying to replace them, Abwaab is positioning itself to sell software that makes these businesses more efficient, for example by digitising payments, grading, and student tracking.
