## About the product

AletCloud is a self-service cloud platform for Ethiopian developers, startups, businesses, and institutions that need locally hosted infrastructure and hosting in Addis Ababa.

Key capabilities include:
- **Cloud VPS** with full root access and a choice of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Rocky, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, openSUSE), scaling from 1 vCPU up to 16, plus optional public IP add-ons.
- **Git-based app hosting** that connects to **GitHub**, detects common frameworks automatically (including React, Next.js, Django, Laravel, Spring Boot, Go, and static sites), and deploys on every push. Dockerfile builds are supported, and the website advertises **the first app free**.
- **Managed databases** for **PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB**, with versions pinned to the selected minor release. Paid plans include **automated daily backups** with configurable retention, and the platform advertises **one free database per account** with no expiry.
- **S3-compatible object storage** with access keys, presigned URLs, and versioning, plus **domain registration and DNS management**, **WireGuard private networking** per account, and **business email** with browser access plus **IMAP/SMTP**.

Available on **Web**, with an **MCP endpoint** for AI-agent integrations at https://mcp.aletcloud.com/mcp.

It targets organizations in **Ethiopia** that want predictable, local-currency billing (ETB) and data residency for production apps, internal systems, and customer-facing services.

Notable for its **Addis Ababa hosting** (the site states its hardware operates inside Ethio Telecom’s Bole data centre), **usage-based billing billed by the minute with monthly price ceilings**, and built-in support for local top-ups (telebirr, bank transfer, or card via Chapa).
